Terms of use

Last updated 17 October 2026.

1. The service

OurChildrens, run by OurChildren Ltd, is a communication and record-keeping tool for separated parents and the professionals who support them. We are not a law firm and do not give legal advice. Nothing on the site or in the app is legal, medical or safeguarding advice.

2. Your account

You must be 18 or over. Keep your login private and tell us at once if you think someone else has used it. Each parent needs their own account; accounts cannot be shared.

3. Payments

4. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to harass, threaten or intimidate anyone, to post unlawful material, or to try to access someone else’s account or case. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts someone at risk.

5. Records

Messages and entries cannot be edited or deleted by users. We aim to keep them accurate and in order, but we do not promise that any court, tribunal or professional will accept or give weight to them.

6. Professionals

Professionals may use access only for the case they were added to, must keep their login private, and remain responsible for their own professional and regulatory duties. Professionals should not use the message thread for privileged advice.

7. Administrator access

Our administrators can access stored content in the limited circumstances described in our privacy notice. Such access is logged.

8. Availability and liability

We try to keep the service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, or for loss caused by outages, delays in messages or events outside our control. Nothing limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although consumers in Scotland or Northern Ireland may use their local courts.
